Although I have been working with the Adobe suite for over 8 years, I started my professional design and interactive media career in the spring of 2006 as a design assistant to the owner of Brightline Interactive, Alexandria, VA. Eric asked to do a couple small projects for him and he was so impressed with my work I was quickly promoted to New Media Developer, which meant that I was on the design, consulting, content, and coding team. While working under the roof of Brightline Interactive, I have had the privilege of assisting the team with several government and fortune 500 contracts including the United States Army AUSA convention 2006 and 2007, National Park Service Selma to Montgomery and Centennial Initiative Websites, Red Peg Exxon and National Guard Presentations, as well as the John McCain Timeline Website. Though the work at Brightline was challenging, I craved more.
In the summer of 2007 I launch my own freelance company under the name of "Media Misfit" while still working for Brightline Interactive. After the birth of my son in the Spring of 2008, I had to work from home and the work from Brighline decreased and Eric made me a contractor instead of a pay roll employee, eventually being layed off all together. With Media Misfit picking up more clients and not wanting to fall behind I was in search of a business partner who I could sub contract work to. At this time I had met Jon Schuster, from 813 Designs. We soon realized we shared the same goals. We joined forces to create "AON Media". Together I have no doubt in my mind that we will change the way websites are designed and executed.
